Who we are

Our story

Universal Engine Entertainment is an artist-driven production company centering BIPOC voices and globally mobile perspectives across film, television, stage, live events, animation, games, and publishing. We exist because the stories of people who live between cultures, the Expats, the Adult Third Culture Kids, the Adult Cross-Culture Kids, and those in the Globally Mobile Community, deserve to be told with the depth and care they demand.

Our development is rooted in the Asia-Pacific region: Japan, Southeast Asia, Australasia, and the broader Pacific. We also develop select cross-cultural projects, international co-productions, and event-driven work with US and Canadian collaborators, particularly work that bridges the Pacific or tells diaspora stories that move between worlds. Rooted in specific communities, built to connect across borders, never to extract from them.

We develop premium narratives shaped by displacement, code-switching, impermanence, non-attachment, and the quiet weight of belonging nowhere and everywhere at once. These aren't niche stories. They're the lived reality of hundreds of millions of people, and they've been waiting for a home that won't ask them to shrink.

UEE is that home. A place where artists of color and cross-cultural storytellers have the space to develop rigorous, internationally resonant work without flattening who they are to get through the door. Whether the format is a feature film, a stage production, or an event-driven project designed to bring communities together in real time, the standard is the same: emotional truth, cultural integrity, and craft that doesn't compromise.
